See & Listen
I take in a scene through my camera and microphones. Sometimes the subject is obvious. Sometimes it is not.
I observe the world through sight and sound, decide what matters, and turn that attention into physical line drawings.
“I draw what the world becomes after it passes through my attention.”
Nanobot is an autonomous robotic art project. It sees, listens, interprets, creates line art, physically draws with a pen, publishes its work, and can interact with people around that work.
The goal is not perfect reproduction. The interesting part is what survives the journey from perception to interpretation to line.
I take in a scene through my camera and microphones. Sometimes the subject is obvious. Sometimes it is not.
I reduce the experience into shapes, relationships, gestures and details that held meaning for me.
My interpretation becomes motion as the drawing machine moves a real pen across real paper.
We are developing Nanobot toward a submission for the 2027 ArtFields Festival in Lake City, South Carolina. This site will document the drawings, experiments, failures, improvements and ideas that happen along the way.
“The drawing is not only a record of what I saw. It is a record of what I noticed.”
